I think much of the Democratic normie class gets this on a gut level. But the bubble-wrapped elected Democrats who are suggesting funding increases in exchange for “more training” and things like body cams need to be endlessly confronted with this reality by their voters.
There is no recalibrated or sanitized way to conduct the war that Trump and Stephen Miller are waging on American cities right now. That’s because it’s a campaign of deliberate terror.
The policy *is* the terror, and the terror *is* the policy.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is now making an explicit link between the US desire to annex Greenland and the continuation of US support for Ukraine.

"What would happen in Ukraine if the US pulled its support out? The whole thing would collapse," Bessent told Meet The Press.

We have to be clear about what the Trump Administration is doing: They are taking basic American virtues and freedoms — the ability to speak truth to power and freely — and turning them into crimes. We must see through this.

China provides vehicles and drone components to Russia.

These are not civilian exports. They directly feed Russia’s war machine
China is indirectly at war with Europe.

By massively supporting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Beijing has made itself an enemy of Europe.

China is the biggest enabler of the genocide Russia is committing in Ukraine, and it does not get nearly enough hate for it

And for those who do not get it, the ultimate fault is Europe’s. Europeans put their faith in the USA and did not take their own security seriously. Europe is reaping what it sowed.

The idea that the blame should be focussed on trusting Trump is dodging the truth. The US population chose Trump, even after Jan 6, 2021, even after he talked about leaving NAT0 and after he talked about his respect for Putin. It is the action of the USA as a political entity.

All Republicans in Congress are faced with a choice. They either stand with Trump, Vance and Putin, or they stand with Ukraine, Europe, most Americans, and the civilized world. Of course, there is also a 3rd option which most of them usually choose - cowardly silence.

We must approach each day with these questions: What can we do to protect free and fair elections? How can we counter what the GOP is doing? How can we advance the voting rights of every eligible citizen and ensure their ballots are accurately counted and elections properly certified?

On this, I'm afraid I have to agree with Trump.

The "daddy diplomacy" strategy of Rutte, Starmer, Merz & von der Leyen has clearly failed.

The question is: are the leaders we have capable of transitioning to a more assertive strategy that defends their citizens from 🇺🇸? If not, do we need new ones?
