it is not about sports. it has never been about sports. it is about banning trans people from public life entirely AT BEST, and at worst, forcing them into situations that will endanger their lives. this is why we don't play along with the "just asking questions" sports bullshit
🚨 BREAKING | Labour is set to impose a sweeping ban on trans people using any "single-sex space".

In EHRC guidance that Labour is set to approve, trans people will be barred from accessing toilets, gyms and changing rooms that match their gender.

Ons thing that's really bugging me about the "PhD level intelligence" is that a PhD isn't a measure of intelligence, it's a measure of commitment to study and specialisation in a narrow field (and opportunity to do so).

"PhD level intelligence" isn't really a meaningful phrase

Now that I no longer have academic library access, I’m really feeling the decline of basic web search. AI just exacerbated the SEO problem.

This feels like a Tumblr question, but I've not been on that platform properly in about a decade, so I'll ask Bluesky: do you associate any #Dimension20 campaigns with particular times of year? Easy example: Unsleeping City s1 with the Winter festive period.

A reminder that Eurovision banned Russia while Israel continues to participate.

Meanwhile the Israeli government has killed at least 140 ppl in 24h and has been openly starving Gaza for over two months.

#Eurovision is tonight, and here's a hilarious fun fact about it: Israel has started a massive offensive against civilian populations in Gaza with the explicit aim of conquering the entire territory and ethnically cleansing its population, and Eurovision has aggressively refused to give a shit.

Just watched the episode myself and then went to see Darren's thoughts on it, as I've been doing recently after watching DW. Some really great insights!
I really liked this week's episode of #DoctorWho, "The Story and the Engine."

A story about stories, about "Doctor Who", about colonialism appropriation, and the power of a compelling narrative.

Very good stuff, this.

The Greens now have nearly 200 more councillors than Reform.

This is not something you'd be likely to guess from all the copiously salivating media coverage of Farage & his crew of billionaire-backed far-right chancers.
Another record year for the Green Party 👏

I cannot recommend @emilystjams.bsky.social's Woodworking enough - I *devoured* the audiobook in a couple of evenings, ruining my sleep cycle so I could hear more. Best book I've read this year so far, and (though it's a cliché) a vital read for Our Times™.
