when I was 19, secretly writing the garbled pages that would evolve into Cacoethes (available from @northodoxpress.bsky.social ), at no point did I see myself going on podcasts to talk about David Bowie's death. (He was still alive when I started it, for one thing.)

Actually, seeing a man of color, getting scared, and calling The Police, is pretty typical racist behavior

After a prolonged absence in a Messy Room I found the glasses I bought solely because they reminded me of Arnold from Yes Minister and the instant Dan walked through the door this evening he said "you look like Arnold from Yes Minister". Never known love like it.

A friend sent me his unpublished novel to read and Adobe offered to AI-summarise it and after banging my head against the wall I read and enjoyed the entire unsummarised phonetically-dialogued beautifully painfully human novel and am once again thinking about how The Prisoner predicted all this

I'm old enough to have grown up with family who fought in WWII. They rarely talked about it and when they did it was to warn, not glorify. Remembrance Day was a time of quiet, sombre reflection. They would be horrified at the twisted celebration it has become.

I'm on a bit of a Sixties music kick and it will never not amuse me that two of Certified Petty Bitch Del Shannon's top hits were "hey everyone that woman is a slut" (Runaround Sue) and "I'm glad you got cheated on, actually" (Hats Off To Larry). Just unbridled rancid vibes but SUCH foot tappers.
