Sessions give you something to talk about with a complete stranger; they are essential for learning — even senior people can learn a thing or two if they can put their hubris away for a second and pay attention; and they give you ready access to a potential expert in a topic you're invested in.

How often do these sorts of threats work? They always make me way more interested in seeing the story.
“I’m sure you’re aware of our connections with the Trump Administration,” the North Carolina Republican Party's communications director wrote in an email response to us. “I would strongly suggest dropping this story.”

We didn't. Read the story that he wanted dropped:

Have to admit the chatter around the local mayoral election hasn't been nearly as annoying as I had feared. Tho based on the upsurge in astroturfing for one of the 2 candidates the past week or so, I have to imagine he's getting bad news from their polling.

This is some early concept art that artist Peter Ledger did for Babylon 5. Show creator J. Michael Straczynski used the art to shop the show around to potential buyers. It’s interesting to note that Delenn was originally going to be a “he”.

While out of town, had a convo with someone who asked me about the riots we're having in Boston, as they'd seen it on the news. I told them that there was no such thing.

But this is apparently what's running as a story in the rest of the country
