For @msmagazine.com, I wrote about the WNBA and the issue of pay equity. By the time the WNBA was only two seasons in (1999-2000) the average NBA salary was 58 times higher than the average WNBA salary. Twenty-six years later, the gap has jumped to 116 times higher.

The strike is not about whether or not you approve of Starbucks coffee. It's about the workers, who like all workers deserve equitable treatment and fair pay. That is the issue. Why bring up your personal feelings about the coffee? Nobody in this conversation cares. Start another thread about it.

Can someone go on Fox News and say “you are an illiterate dog with a $200 hair cut” to one of the hosts. I don’t care who you say it to. But I think it would be universally applicable

I'm a leftwing Canadian.

I've never, in my life, been represented by a government at any level that comes close to sharing my political beliefs. And you don't see me whining about it...

Ok, you do see me whining about it, constantly, but you don't see news orgs writing about me whining about it.

I'm only going to say this one time.
Protesting in these times needs to be deliberate around safety & risk.

We need to be cautious about "spontaneous" actions that have no discernible leadership or planning.

"Just show up" as a directive should be a HUGE RED FLAG.
