I don’t think the Democrats should choose the dude who lost the 2010 midterms over all the trans people in America.

If you agree, I happen to be running for Congress: bethfordemocracy.com Help convince ambitious transphobes keep their weirdness to themselves again!

Public radio saves lives. Period.

Last year alone, PBS transmitted 11,000+ emergency alerts — floods, fires, tornadoes, evacuations. Cutting its funding means silencing the alarms.

This isn’t politics — it’s public safety.

Deb's right. I love this framing. And to "expensive, polluting" I'll add stinky and gross.
I think of fossil fuels as humanity’s “black start” — they bought us the ability to figure out renewable energy technologies. But it’s just dumb — expensive, polluting — to keep the diesel generator running once the lights are on.

I so enjoy not being bothered by missing out on all the sweet, sweet Amazon prime deals. The freedom of wanting very little is an amazing freedom to possess.

The unregulated link in a toxic supply chain.

From El Paso, Texas, to Richmond, Virginia, warehouses are leaking ethylene oxide, a cancer-causing chemical. Almost no one knows about them.

Should corporations be able to weaponize your personal data to rip you off?

Well, they may already be doing that thanks to a shady tactic called “surveillance pricing.”

this is really important. FEMA is effectively already being shut down.
NEW from me — FEMA staffers say the response to the Texas floods is horrifyingly slow, and it may be because of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem's recent increased control over how the agency spends money.

"If this is how they are going to do a major hurricane response, people are fucked.”

How close are we to the edge of Zero Day when no water comes out of the taps?

Scarily close.

But @timsmedley.bsky.social has a whole host of ways we can restore our water cycles

What's not to like?
