Millions lost broadband access after the Affordable Connectivity Program lapsed—yet the FCC has taken no meaningful action. As @bluntrochester.senate.gov warned: without competition and affordability, networks won’t serve the people who need them most.

It makes no sense. The MEP program creates manufacturing jobs and boosts productivity by adopting cutting-edge tech like AI. But the Trump Administration is playing games with MEP funding and hurting American manufacturing.

Families are facing an affordability crisis—but the FCC isn’t helping.

@cantwell.senate.gov asked if consolidation is driving higher prices and fewer choices for consumers. The FCC should be lowering costs, not enabling corporate mergers.

Who does the FCC Chairman think is his boss, Donald Trump or the American people?

It’s not a hypothetical question.

Affordability starts with transparency. Broadband labels should show the real price—no fine print, no surprises. Weakening consumer protections only drives bills higher and trust lower.

Access doesn’t matter if people can’t afford it. With ACP gone and costs rising, millions are being priced out of broadband. Affordability isn’t a side issue—it’s the foundation of closing the digital divide.

Commerce Democrats are sounding the alarm: families are paying more for cable, streaming, and wireless while consolidation and hidden fees go unchecked. An FCC that ignores affordability is failing consumers.

Just a few years ago, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr defended political speech, saying it must not be censored.

But now he is using his position to target people for what they say on TV and investigating every major broadcast network except Fox.

Today, @lujan.senate.gov and I pressed Chairman Carr on the need for an independent FCC.

Carr said he doesn’t think the FCC is an independent agency and has now immediately removed any reference of the FCC being an “independent agency” from it's website. This is all a big scam.

Americans are paying more than almost any other country for wireless. Consolidation and reduced competition are driving up costs.

The FCC is not focused enough on affordability.

Trump’s FCC Chair investigated CBS for editing an interview of VP Harris.

But Fox did the same thing in an interview with Trump to make his answer about releasing the Epstein files look good – in the middle of a presidential campaign.

Why won’t Brendan Carr hold Fox to the same standard as CBS?
