Thinking about my own father, who arrived in 1946 with the Free Polish Army - when would Labour have sent him back to communist Poland? How could he have done anything to build a life and have children in the UK if he had had to beg to stay every two years? Disgusting. www.bbc.com/news/article...

As with most crises, there's an opportunity here for the government to react by, getting one of their SOBs in at the BBC and using the supposed 'lack of balance' crisis to make Ofcom much more muscular with regards to GBnews. Sincerely doubt Lisa Nandy will do it though!

The relationship the government has with twitter is a bit like the one the previous labour government had with tabloids, simultaneously afraid of their power and yet by appeasing them for every little thing, enhancing their power.
