I want to meet the person at the Ontario provincial government who found quality audio of an anti-tariff speech by Ronald Reagan and thought to use it in an ad during the ALCS. They've got to be feeling the kind of high that only comes along once or twice in a career.

I let Jerry Springer cut in front of me in line at the Walgreens pharmacy on Michigan Avenue and Chicago. He was carrying a biography of Andrew Jackson with him.

My grocer asked me if I wanted to donate some cinnamon rolls to the fire department and I feel like I have unlocked a new, higher level of Midwestern. My True Midwest meter is full.

Finishing off an old but good one. Absolutely howling at the price sticker. $25.99 …those were the days.

I unapologetically love Now and Then. A triumph of technology in that it feels more satisfying to listen to than the previous 2 Anthology tracks despite those being perfectly lovely tunes, they made John sound ghostly.

I was at Gutenberg: The Musical (it was very fun!) and all they play is Billy Joel at the intermissions. It makes a ton of sense in that it’s rock music for people that love musical theatre.
