Companies have been warming up to the idea of people literally living at the office. As conditions in the US rapidly deteriorate, it seems very likely we will see the return of company town style living. These closed infrastructures allow companies to keep more $ and control info and behavior.
Instead of letting people work from home, why not let workers live in the office?

I have no hard data, but based on my years of observing who works in law enforcement or the military, I'm going to guess the vast majority of these 5,000 employees were right leaning. Some even MAGA. They'll be replaced by explicit loyalists, but they're not exactly purging the communist party.
The FBI has turned over the names of 5,000 employees who investigated the January 6th US Capitol riot to the Trump administration.

The employees fear that it will lead to their termination.
