Bloomberg is reporting that federal workers tasked with approving medical devices for Medicare have reportedly received termination notices. As a wheelchair user who also uses some other assistive devices (canes, shower chairs, that sort of thing) I want to add some context to this.

Do you remember that time Pence tried to see Hamilton and the cast called him out.

Or when McConnell was chased out of a resraurant and not allowed a peaceful meal.

Or when Cruz abandoned Texas during the deep freeze and we shamed him into going home.

That.

Do that.

Underinsured can be as harmful as uninsured. Too many of my patients fighting cancer also have to fight their insurance company. Grateful for Cost Plus drugs making therapies like Abiraterone Acetate for prostate cancer more affordable.

After nearly three decades, a Minnesota summer camp for kids with HIV/AIDS is closing and up for sale... because retroviral drugs are so effective that there aren't enough campers.

Science works, y'all.

I really like “masks useless”. Beyond my never getting covid despite intubating covid patients, pre vaccine no less, we made a whole strain of flu fucking disappear from the earth, inadvertantly, by masking.

It went extinct.

But yeah. Tell me masks don’t do anything…

A few uncomfortable truths:

COVID is MORE “common” than the “common cold”

It circulates MORE than the flu, even during “flu season”

There’s no “COVID season” as COVID is present all year round

These are facts that ppl find hard to accept as it would mean they need to wear a mask in public spaces

We need mandatory masking in healthcare.

A baby can’t protect themselves. You can’t take a “you do you” approach with an infant.

Last year, when I was at MSNBC, I did a 10-minute deep-dive into RFK Jr's anti-vaxxer role in the measles outbreak that killed dozens and dozens of kids in Samoa.

I hope every Senator voting in his confirmation process for HHS knows about this crucial and awful story:

"If you’re a health-care worker who sees a patient in a mask, put one on for them. Don’t make them ask. Don’t psychologize them. Don’t betray the trust they’ve shown you. They’ve put their lives in your hands. Don’t take that for granted, it’s not an easy thing for many of us to do"

Can we talk about HVAC home air filtration. I am purchasing a home and it needs a high efficiency furnace. Can anyone in the aerosol science community recommend a whole house system or is a corsi box better? Thanks!

I’ve been depressed because of all the bad things happening. My cousin just called. Her sister has aggressive cancer & trying to figure out where it’s originated. Pancreatic possible. All over in her GI. She is a school teacher. I firmly believe we are in trouble with the covid let it rip mentality.
