Badenoch has proved much more pathetic than I had originally anticipated and I thought she would be an unmitigated disaster. Not one solitary fibre of moral substance to her.

Telling that Starmer's response focused on the tweets about Jess Phillips rather than himself. Systems and policies matter, but never underestimate the importance of having a genuinely decent human being in charge.

Elon Musk's UK attacks: 'He doesn't give a damn about grooming victims'
Elon Musk has turned his attention to UK politics, calling for the release of Tommy Robinson from prison, and the jailing of Keir Starmer, and is sharing disinformation about UK child sex abuse.

Is there a single spine left in the Conservative parliamentary party. Is there one person there with the moral stature to call this filth out? It's a goddamn obscenity.
Meanwhile, over in the "sensible Conservative" camp...

The concentration of wealth in the hands of an elite few isn't just bad for our economy. It's corrosive to our democracy.

When the wealthy and well-connected control our political system, the American people don't have a voice.

The result is demagoguery and corruption.

John Prescott was a politician both behind and ahead of his time. Considered too bluff and old Labour to reach to the very top in the 90s, today his authenticity and class credentials would have been perfect to fight Farage and populism. Labour needs more like him.

One third of children in the UK are living in poverty and we have had a day with the media obsessing about rich farmers who want to keep their millions tax free. Who is orchestrating this utterly bizarre news agenda, and why?

Mandelson is hopeless at the best of times. Here he's being actively dimwitted.
Peter Mandelson: “You can’t ignore [Farage], he’s an elected member of parliament. He’s a public figure. He’s a bridgehead, both to President Trump and to Elon Musk and others . . . National interest is served in all sorts of weird and wonderful ways.”

UK should use Farage as ‘bridgehead’ to Trump and Musk, says Mandelson
Comments by would-be US ambassador are in direct contrast to UK government policy
