It's not new information that just saying "no" works but for some reason, many institutions have been paying the full ransom immediately
They're cooked.

It’s amazing to me that Musk had the sheer gall to tweet that the ‘bomb’ was that Trump is in the Epstein files knowing full well… that he was in there too.

These people are astonishing. No shame.

Just zero shame or self-awareness.

Yes — that's why I hope folks focus on indy journalist Georgia Fort, arrested for covering the same church protest, an Emmy award winner who went out on her own to focus on social justice issues — & does not have the vast resources and celebrity lawyer available to her that Lemon has.
This is about forcing Don Lemon to spend money and time defending himself.

"“They probably don’t have any expectation that this prosecution will stick," legal expert tells me. "But they do know they will put Don Lemon through the grinder in the meantime."

It’s blatantly hypocritical that this DOJ is slapping charges of “conspiracy to deprive rights” on Don Lemon—a journalist whose only supposed ‘crime’ was showing up to report on a protest—while shielding ICE thugs who gunned down Alex Pretti, an innocent ICU nurse, in cold blood.

Breaking on MS NOW:

Career DOJ prosecutors in both Minnesota and Los Angeles refused to be involved in charging Don Lemon and the other journalists who covered the Minneapolis church protests.

The prosecutors believe the evidence does not support the charges, per @carolleonnig.bsky.social.

@premthakker.bsky.social & @swin24.bsky.social report how Trump’s racist rhetoric has put Ilhan Omar in danger.

Last week in Minnesota, I watched ordinary people risk their lives to protect their neighbors. In the process, they not only won a significant—though not final—victory against authoritarianism, they proved virtually every MAGA social theory wrong. (gift link) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

Absolutely right. Call them all, call them repeatedly, don't stop.
Red or Blue, now is the time to email your senator. Tomorrow morning is the time to call their offices.

I don't care if your senator is already on side (give them your courage) or if your senator is wholly useless (give them some of your fear).

Make sure they hear from you.
There is A LOT of misinformation going around about the continued funding of ICE.

It ISN'T a done deal.

Yes, it passed in the House, but the Senate hasn't taken it up yet.

That's the way this shit works.

CONTACT YOUR SENATOR NOW AND TELL THEM TO VOTE THIS FUNDING DOWN.

Democrats can and must make it clear there will be trials and anyone even somewhat associated with ICE will face them. Maybe give a quit-your-job deadline on appeasement and give people 72 hours. I don't know. But currently the plan is to let them murder us in the street and get away with it.

They have collectively decided, with little evidence, that one of the party’s biggest electoral problems is being perceived as too left on immigration and policing. Remember that right after the 2020 election Clyburn suggested Dems lost the South Carolina US Senate race because of defund.
Democrats are so desperate to seem strong on crime that they are funding terrorists and murderers. If they think this is what moderate, "freedom-loving" voters want, they're out of their minds.
Perhaps this latest shooting changes things. But the Dem establishment is fixated on this separation of economic vs not purely economic. If Trump somehow could unilaterally raise gas, grocery or health insurance prices, they would mobilize. But otherwise, they want to redirect to those issues.

I’m trying to understand Republicans’ latest interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. You can now be executed by federal agents if you possess a firearm? Even after you are disarmed? I’m just trying to keep your position straight on this “shall not be infringed” stuff.

DOJ lies.
DHS lies.
ICE lies.

That has been established. Do not repeat their claims as fact. Their claims are arguments or, often, misleading propaganda — when not outright lies.

They are seeking to make a case for their lawlessness (and to please Trump), not seeking to inform.

they need to demonstrate that resistance is worse than useless, that it will be broken, and that their agents have impunity regardless of their actions.
So… what’s the strategic goal for the administration in Minnesota, exactly?

I’m not being cute, I don’t understand the theory of victory here and want someone to explain it to me.

I am taking down the paywall for this one, as I believe it remains relevant as a reflection on the limits of the authoritarian assault – and the need to push back against the idea that America is inevitably and irresistibly marching towards a Trump dictatorship.

This week’s piece:
The Limits of Violent Authoritarianism
Trump’s authoritarian desires are boundless. But the past year proves that his ability to impose them on America is not.

On the execution in Minnesota: Obviously, the individuals involved should be held accountable. But responsibility goes to the top of ICE and CBP, and DHS. Their appropriations come up next week in the senate. Not a cent for DHS without pulling ICE and CBP off the streets, in MN and everywhere else.
