RFK really missed the simplest lesson of LBJ’s career, try not to get any kids killed if your name rhymes with “how many kids did you kill today”

It’s the disinformation, stupid
What we’re done is create a massive information infrastructure which privileges conspiracy theories, demagoguery, bigotry, lies, and hysteria - much larger than the traditional news infrastructure. It’s the main information source for many.

And then new political movements evolved to exploit it.

This is something I’ve been thinking about—the United States has bombed a country without boots on the ground with every President since Reagan. We’ve just grown to accept bombings and airstrikes as normal.
Americans are conditioned to expect a series of airstrikes with every president, boots on the ground would be a breaking point.

Tariffs poll well despite the fact that they would be disastrous for most people if implemented for the same reason mass deportations do. It's not economic, it's cultural. People like the idea of a virile strongman restoring American's wealth by brutalizing the dark-skinned people who took it.

If you want an opportunity for moral and strategic clarity rip Kennedy, Hegseth, and Gabbard apart in confirmation hearings. Ask Kennedy if he knows the names of the Samoan kids he killed with measles; read the police report of the rape Hegseth committed; show pictures of Gabbard meeting with Assad.
The tax fight next year is going to be an absolute barn burner and it gives our side a perfect opportunity for moral and strategic clarity. They want to raise the price of stuff you buy and use your money to give more to corporations. Let’s keep it simple and let’s fight, after the holidays.

I don't know who needs to hear this, everyone I think, but if you send a PDF to your kindle and put 'convert' as the subject it will change it to epub format for you, you're welcome

(I posted this on the other place and was surprised by how many people it helped so thought I'd do it here too.)

Was there today for the H.R. 9495 vote (bill that would have allowed labeling nonprofits as terrorist supporting organizations).

Voted no, of course - but I do want to report that the activism DID work and persuaded members.

I thought it’d be a lonely NO vote, which we take often. It wasn’t.
