“You’re only ever male or female end of story” is about as useful to the human condition as “you’re only ever alive or dead” or “you’ll either win or you’ll lose”. It’s a nothing thing to say with all the nuance of a schoolyard bully who’s nothing but an arsehole who chooses the path of nastiness.
