I'm supporting @nywfp.bsky.social because a vote on the WFP line sends a clear message: we want leaders who will tax the rich, freeze the rent, and make NYC work for all of us, not just the wealthy few. Join me and take the pledge!

We need a progressive version of the Tea Party. The Tea Party (voters mostly) were successful at pressuring the Republican Party and forcing it to change. It did. It got worse.

We need to be like the Tea Party, but in a positive way and for the good of the country. We have to be laser-focused.

Whoa! Alligator Alcatraz is going to be complete by Tuesday and open for operation on Wednesday.

Am I the only one wondering how Ron DeSantis got this together so fast?

Floridians, make sure you remember this the next time a hurricane hits and you can’t get disaster relief in your state.

More great work in our NY State Assembly!
“Children in New York State are now eligible for continuous healthcare coverage from birth until the age of six after a bill introduced by Queens Assembly Member Jessica González-Rojas and State Sen. Samra Brouk of Rochester passed in the state budget.”

NEW: After the election, many have asked “where do we go from here?” I have some thoughts and they don't include “be more moderate”

Read my op-ed in @empirereportny.bsky.social where I call for us in the NY legislature to act with a bold and progressive vision.

The FELON does NOT have a landslide or a mandate!

It’s a PLURALITY, less than a majority!

His margin is 1.6% which is 44th out of 51 elections since 1824.

This is the narrowest margin for an R since 1968, excluding the 2xs Rs lost the popular vote & won the Electoral College.

36% didn’t vote.

I’ve never in my life agreed with a Trump pick before. But Rep. Chavez-DeRemer knows her stuff as it comes to unions. She’s by no means amazing. But it’s certainly hope that not all will be lost in the cabinet.

Let’s not give up and keep working to see how we can continue to organize.
This pick is making MAGA world and conservatives very nervous.

Rep. Chavez-DeRemer was one of three Republicans to vote for the PRO Act - the Protect the Right To Organizing Act.

In a statement, the NEA, the largest union in the country, released a statement acknowledging her pro-labor record.

Things are looking pretty bleak nationally. Thank goodness for our Queens-based state legislators like my boss @votejgr.bsky.social who are keeping the sanity 😭.

Breaking news: President-elect Donald Trump plans to fire the entire team that worked with special counsel Jack Smith to pursue two federal prosecutions against the former president, according to two individuals close to Trump’s transition.
Trump plans to fire Jack Smith’s team, use DOJ to probe 2020 election
The plans show how president-elect Donald Trump wants to use the Justice Department to address his own personal grievances.

BREAKING: Tulsi Gabbard is on a TSA watch list because of her suspicious foreign travel patterns

Maybe — just maybe, hear me out here — the nominee for Director of National Intelligence should NOT be someone who made a TSA watch list for her suspicious foreign travel patterns

Make anyone who supports nominees like Hegseth get on the record doing so. When everything is investigated and it’s true, they show who they truly are.
Donald Trump doesn't want the a Senate to even hold hearings on his terrible nominees.

Why?

Because it will highlight intra-Republican fault lines.

And expose for the public how extreme the people he is choosing will act.

We should ONLY fight to get them into hearings, for now.

This is a huge thing! As long as the media focuses on getting clicks with Trump’s dumbassery, we end up with X-style and NYPost-style moguls and magnates entirely controlling the public eye!
X was pretty instrumental in subtle ways for Trump. The big one was driving everyone to cover Biden's stutter after the Nazi Open Mic Night at Madison Square Garden.

You can't hold a narrative against someone when every reporter spends all day on a Trump campaign site.
I was skeptical of the “X is slowly cooking your brain” discourse because I don’t think my ideological worldview has shifted much, but having now experienced both Bluesky and X I think the big difference is I got used to fighting/provocation as the standard “tone” of posting without realizing it.

I’m glad to be on #bluesky ! A lot of people say this is just going to be an echo chamber for the left, but I disagree. There’s no reason any social media app would become an echo chamber unless SOMEONE turns it into that (cough cough). Anyways, glad to be here!

The CEO of Delta says that having to refund a passenger for a cancelled flight is "government overreach."

These corporations are endlessly greedy, and the next 4 years will be a slue of efforts to swindle consumers out of every penny.

It is significant that the Pres-elect nominated Rep. Chavez-DeRemer for Labor. Her record suggests real support of workers & their right to unionize. I hope it means the Trump admin will actually respect collective bargaining and workers' voices from Teamsters to teachers.
