It tells you a lot about this fucking country that the headline includes the record of a high school football team, and not the reason for the warrants.
Coach Turner is now wanted on ten warrants, including five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor, according to Va. State Police. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

JD Vance owns a company that buys American real estate and sells it to foreign investors. They specifically target Americans in crisis to buy their property for less than it is worth.
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

NBA heaves not counting the missed attempts reminds me of the time Casper Ware made history. 😎 chickennoodlehoop.com/2014/03/28/c...
Casper Ware’s half-court shot sets league record for made heaves in a season
At a time when efficiency is as important as ever, taking a half-court shot is like a fork in the road for NBA players. It’s an opportunity for a team to score a free three points since the opposit…

Love the NBA's too big to fail era. Just churning out non-stop garbage without consequences.
So to sum up the All-Star Game selection process this season:

24 All-Stars
12 from each conference
Positions don't matter
16 US players
8 World players
2 US teams
1 World team
8 players per team
If there are not enough US or World players then Adam Silver will select more to fill out the teams.
Looks like NBA just revealed the All-Star Game format this season. Two teams of American players and one World team. Same selection process for the All-Stars but they will not be picked based on position. So positionless All-Stars selections.

Right: 'Maryland gerrymandering is an affront to Western civilization!', from today.

This is definitely one of those things that people would’ve called you hysterical for predicting a year ago.

Trump is going to destroy the East Room of the White House without even asking Congress and build a ballroom with funds from private companies that are seeking favors? Settle down, lib.
Scoop: Trump has started demolishing the White House's East Wing facade to build his ballroom. The president had claimed construction of the $250 million building wouldn’t ‘interfere’ with the existing White House structure. /W @ddiamond.bsky.social wapo.st/4hqBNiU

Yeah the NBA's on-court product may be better than ever, but good lord the level of gambling and AI that's thrown at you in the process.

it is ALWAYS worth pointing out who gets to be just a helpless little innocent precious baby boy at the age of 34, vs. who is framed by the cops as a big scary dangerous man whose candy bar might be a gun when he's barely in middle school, or described as a "13-year-old woman" by her predator
last i checked these young republicans were like 25 years old. but this is a classic case of infantilization to diminish the significance of the offense. www.yahoo.com/news/article...

"Depends on who you ask" framing is one of the most grating tics in modern political journalism. Objective reality exists and your job is to describe it.
A classic case of irresponsible both-sidesism from the NYT. The story is that Trump and MAGA propagandists are lying about Portland to incite a conflict, not that there are different views of the matter.

The liberal outfit that goes back to liberal fundamentals will win.

That doesn't mean tacking to the center; it means emphasizing liberty interests against the emerging authoritarian regime, and NOT giving it what it wants.
The pitch from every single left of center think tank "here's why we need to compromise on our fundamental values to win, surely no one will think we're frauds if we do"

I am just going to keep posting that the TX governor recently pardoned a political murderer.

The dude texted "I'm going to shoot protestors", then went and shot a Black Lives Matter protester. He was convicted in a jury trial.

Hard to find a more blatant example of celebrating political violence.

A Travis County jury sentenced Perry to 25 years in prison last year, prompting Abbott to ask the state parole board to review his case.
