I was at work yesterday talking about this and had to explain AIDS denialism and how common it was in the 80s. The two 20ish people couldn't believe that people basically doubted AIDS existed or that it was a lie. Mind you, they also didn't get how it was an absolute death sentence, so...progress?
These people remind me a LOT of the AIDS denialists in the 80s. The ones that insisted AIDS didn't actually exist and that you could just ignore it and take some vitamins.
