Just to show the absurdity of the analysis - Imagine

- 45 studies of looking at Venus through a beer bottle finds evidence of rings around Venus

- 1 study of looking at Venus through a telescope finds no rings

Would you conclude "there is evidence that Venus has rings"?

Quick Test:

- 45 studies of 0.3-20k children over 2-10 years based on interviews without any control yield 20% increased risk
- 1 study based on 2.5m children over 25 years based on medical data shows 10% but, after control against siblings, shows 0% increase

What is the scientific conclusion?

This is incoherent and hypocritical given NZFs stances on supposed plots to undermine NZs sovereignty & foreigners in general

But it won't make a blind bit of difference to his cooker support base, because all their stated values and principles are fig leaves to hide their authoritarianism.
Behind a pay-wall until tomorrow, but I'm the "legal expert" gently pointing out that a party called "New Zealand First" arguing that we should have judges with no knowledge of our local conditions and values deciding our law is 💀🤡🤠

I strongly recommend fine documentary “A Shot in the Arm” on vaccine hesitancy & its (often well-paid) promoters, incl RFK, Jr.

Watch whole thing, but especially:

Tom Phillips is dead after a police shooting, and his three children have been found alive. The immediate danger is over. But a larger question lingers: who decided Tom Phillips was safe enough to be left alone with his children - and why?

My story: www.rnz.co.nz/news/nationa...
Who decided Tom Phillips was safe enough to leave alone with his kids?
Experts are calling for a full inquiry into the case, saying questions have to be asked about what agencies knew.

Moreover, MAHA as a movement is eugenicist, which is not surprising because antivax and huge swaths of alternative medicine are suffused with eugenicist thinking. RFK Jr.’s approach to measles is a good starting example. sciencebasedmedicine.org/measles-maha...
Measles, MAHA, and “soft eugenics”
I've long said that the antivax movement is borderline eugenicist (or at least social Darwinist) in nature. Now that a second child has died of measles, it's time for me to take a look at the "soft eu

This is a depressingly clueless take.Trump and RFK Jr. In fascist regimes science is subverted to serve ideology, and the ideology being served is quite recognizably fascist.
That Trump and Trumpism are fascist doesn’t explain the sheer vandalism of unleashing mass murdering mayhem via RFK to replace medical/scientific institutions of immense value and prestige with medieval peasant superstitions. That is a criminal madness facilitated by but above and beyond fascism.

It's official: NZ First is the cooker party
I think it says a lot about NZ's Green Party being environment/ecosystem/science based rather than some of the cultural trends in other countries, that the Green Party had the fewest voters who had never had a covid vaccination 0.34%.
32.5% of NZ First voters say they never had a covid vaccination.

Antivaxxers constantly lie about vaccines causing mass deaths and injuries to stoke anger

They promote 'Nuremberg 2.0' to frame retribution as "protective violence"

And use this threat of violence to intimidate/silence their critics

The "medical freedom" movement is extremist and authoritarian

If this was over a Black or Jewish shop assistant, no one would have any difficulty saying exactly what's going on here, but because it's a trans person, it's treated as valid, because our political and media class spent years crystallising all trans people as an imminent sexual threat to children.
Horrible story. Apologising because a trans employee had the temerity to interact with a customer. What are we becoming?

McKernan was one Voices for Freedom "expert witnesses" at the COVID Inquiry.

He said "what I'm about to say will shock you" before giving a long presentation on his debunked theory that COVID vaccines change your DNA.

So no surprise he, like VFF, is "not an antivaxxer" who opposes all vaccines
🤣

It would be highly unethical to withdraw a known working profilaxia for disease from anyone. The data is so overwhelmingly strong, it is insane to even consider doing such a thing! Besides, it is highly unnecessary! We have the data.
