Fair, they/them. 35. Mostly horror movies and pictures of cats.
Is anyone else having trouble posting pictures? I was trying to brag about how cute my parents' guest room is and show you their dog watching Christmas movies like a fascinated toddler and it's not working

I have a related belief that it is totally fine for a play or movie to be longer than 90 minutes, I just need you to fill out a form for every single minute over 90 explaining why you need that minute
i think if a director wants to make a movie longer than 120 min they should have to get permission via national referendum

This is one reason Franklin in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a remarkable character for its time. He’s in a wheelchair; his friends and sister help him out, because he needs help; he’s also a giant pain in the ass and his wheelchair makes everything take a little longer. It’s summer. It’s Texas.
there's a certain way certain people write fiction about disability that really sets my teeth on edge, and it's an approach that I can only describe as 'educational hugboxing'

in this, portrayal of disability must be constantly affirming, and it must use specific and correct terminology

As war profiteers try to manufacture consent to bomb Venezuela for oil, remember in 2018 Venezuela sent 200,000 struggling American families across 15 freezing states 45 million gallons of free home heating oil.

They continued this program from 2005 to 2009.

I don't think people understand what boxing is. It's not an athletic contest. It's two people fighting to the goal of disabling injury and/or unconsciousness. I'm not interested in debating the morality of it, I just think idiots keep going into boxing matches not knowing what they actually ARE.

Is anyone else watching Holiday Baking Championship? Does Carla Hall seem, like...always drunk to anyone else, or is it just me?

I checked to make sure she's not on bluesky, because, drunk or not, I'm a huge fan and I would hate to hurt her feelings

"We don't want to be Luddites --" brother, Luddites were opposed to bosses concentrating wealth by using technology to make inferior product with warehouses fulls of starving exploited child labor. You don't have to wear the team jersey but respect the game.

There should be a constitutional mechanism for removing a president. Not impeachment, something that actually works, maybe like a catapult

At a shitty Christmas party, clinging to sanity. I was promised food and there is no food. Just me, my 0.0 beer, a playlist of early 2000s butt rock, and a bunch of screaming drunk people. Also, I dressed up, and everyone else is wearing pajamas pants. Send help.

some significant part of this is just catch-all fear for “this is not the child I ordered” I think
Oh, here's a big surprise. The transphobes don't believe in ADHD either.
then, the transphobes , feeling victorious at how many people they have made unhappy and despairing in the previous week, move on to anything else that has a spectrum and the possibility of more colours than they can conceive - such hateful people - they cannot understand anything that is not THEM

Spotify is garbage on every count: Its treatment of artists, its ICE advertising, the CEO's investment in military AI, its leading role in the commodification and AI slopification of music, its terrible audio quality—you name it.

So I quit, and put together a complete guide to getting off Spotify:

Got a little defensive about Christmas music last night. I really do understand why people hate it, especially if they play it at your place of work and you have no say in the matter. I just had an interaction where I was standing in line and said, "Haha, they're playing Mannheim Steamroller, that's
