obviously its easy to mock people for not knowing the odyssey or whatever, but there is a grain of truth to the fact that the anglo countries of the west seem much more concerned with ancient greek culture than the rest of the "western" world, at least in my experience.

I haven't seen anyone point this out yet among the many dunks on this, but: being on Twitter doesn't make you more understanding of the "other side," it makes you less. It was designed to boost the dumbest, least sympathetic version of your enemies into your eyeline. That doesn't promote dialogue.
