Hey friends, I'm doing my best to make it easy for folks to come here and find their communities. I've got two starter packs so far - one with general left-ish activists and leaders, and one with folks working on union issues. Links in chat, and if you'd like to be added to one let me know!
Just dropped my kid off at his friend's house for a sleepover. Family has a Palestinian flag and an iron front flag on their front fence and their car has giant iron front stickers and big know your rights QR code stickers. Gonna have to make a new friend.

I've fucked up this parenting thing in many ways, but my kids are having a very informed debate about which season of The Simpsons has the most bangers and quizzing each other about what episode specific gags come from so I did something right

The only way they could make this game worse is if we had to listen to Joe Buck and Troy Aikman call it. Oh wait.

Ah yes, Americans will surely benefit from "negotiating" with insurance companies, just like we famously negotiate airfare, power bills, mortgage rates...
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

I don't think it's wild speculation at all. She's got her hands in his hair. He's got his hand on the small of her back. And she's dressed like a cheap sofa. All signs point to boffing.
People gossiped about JD Vance and Erika Kirk. Then, inevitably, came the "don't gossip" scoldings.

Screw it! Let's defend wild speculation. First, these two deserve it.

Second, the gossip tells us a lot about JD Vance's political future. An analysis.

Isaac, who played Poe Dameron in the 'Star Wars' sequels, hit out at the studio in the days after the Disney-owned ABC pulled Jimmy Kimmel's late night series off the air in September.

Today is a great day to make sure you cancel ANY recurring donation to ANY sitting Democratic senator and especially to ANY of the party committees.

Yes, they will notice. Yes, they should all be afraid. Send a signal that they'll be held collectively responsible for this utter betrayal. 🧵

Imagine being Gavin Newsom and thinking the way you win the Democratic nomination in 2028 is to get on stage and yuk it up with all these straight up fascists.

Oh no that most dreaded HR action, "a negative mark" in Trump's mind 💀
Now we have Trump blasting air traffic controllers, telling them they hate this country for not showing up without pay.

"I am NOT HAPPY WITH YOU. You didn’t step up to help the U.S.A. against the FAKE DEMOCRAT ATTACK... You will have a negative mark, at least in my mind, against your record."
November 10, 2025 at 3:57 PM
Outlets like Politico want you to believe the calls to #DumpChuck are some kind of "purity test." Mike Levin saying this demonstrates that the mood among Democrats across the spectrum is about as sour as it could possibly be.
Chuck Schumer has not met this moment and Senate Democrats would be wise to move on from his leadership.

Yup, and the damage isn’t so much in the story as in the proof of weakness. Trump now knows he has new torture tools to make Dems do what he wants. It’s why at least one of the 7 capitulators oughta be run out of office now, mid session. Get that number down to 6. www.offmessage.net/p/16-thought...

When the moment came to blow apart a universal moment of energy, optimism, forward momentum for the anti-Trump, pro-democracy movement, say often:

It wasn't progressives or DSA. It wasn't the young people running against the gerontocracy, or primarying those captured by the institution.

Do not help your opposition is politics 101. Do not help fascists who have turned government into a weapon against our people is human 101. So is, don't draw a line you claim represents your unwavering principles and hurl yourself across it.
Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

You have to resign. Tonight.

This is such an embarrassing failure on your part. You and you alone. It was your job to hold the line to protect health care coverage, and you failed. Utterly. Miserably. You failed.

Democrats won a resounding victory less than a week ago, and you caved. Resign. Now.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

I think tonight shows why “moderate to win elections” is a real risk

the big divide in the Dem caucus, as many have noted, has been less moderate vs progressive than fight versus don’t fight

but it’s not a coincidence that basically everyone in the “don’t fight” camp is a moderate

Carefully choreographed votes and angry press releases are all cute, but the indication of whether anyone in the caucus really cares is whether there’s any push for leadership changes or punitive action against the cavers.

There won’t be, but that would be the theoretical sign this is different
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:
