“Mild criticism of Democrats”

“Don’t criticize them now before the election, we need unity”

Democrats lose because of the thing you criticized them that needed fixing

“Democrats lost because you criticized them and didn’t vote hard enough”

“Can I criticize now? Election is over”

“No!! Too soon”

They fail to realize that STEM is useless without the humanities.

What good is hard science when society is so backwards and ignorant that they think vaccines are poison and chatbots are alive? What is the point of math if it's just used to measure peoples skulls?

As everyone has noted, the humanities are worthless, AND ALSO if the LLM companies have to pay market value for writers’ work they’ll all go bankrupt.

I work in comms for UK public services, and they track the average ‘reading age’ of the population, make sure important messaging is understood .
It has fallen from around 12-13 since I started back in 2008 to around 9-10. Surprised if similar wasn’t found in US.

Anyway. They spent the last decade telling us STEM degrees were the future and the Humanities were worthless then they spent hundreds of billions of dollars to build a glitchy Humanities robot.

It'd be cheaper to send them to Cuba for the same amount of time because Internet isn't so much of a thing there, lol. Or most electronics, for that matter.
Are your kids glued to their screens? For just under $8,000, your teenager can live in a college dorm for four weeks with no tech access.

The first week is rough, but eventually the kids relearn how to spend time offline, said the camp’s executive director.
Frazzled parents turn to screen-time coaches, $8,000 detox camps to rein in kids’ tech
Parents trying to raise their kids in a tech-saturated world are getting overwhelmed with the amount of work and fighting it takes to protect kids, which can be a full-time job.

Normally, I'd write this off as a conspiracy theory, but there's already rumors that there are Israeli military veterans working for ICE. Also, I've known for many years that most immigrants from the former USSR despise non-white immigrants and many are openly racist and cheer on police brutality.
I believe they already have. Many ICE Agents are likely Russians working alongside deputized Proud Boys, J6ers, and other Terrorists.

The Little Rock Police Department earned lots of Arkansas Times headlines this year, usually for bad reasons. We wrote about their misdeeds often enough that we’ve put a list together looking back at the police department in 2025.

Fun fact about Nigeria: they recently shut down a lot of car battery recycling outfits to conduct tests.

Tests to study the large amount of lead being let off by these companies, poisoning the local populations.

These companies? US automakers that refuse to start certification programs.

Israel has initiated relations with Muslim-majority countries for the most cynical of reasons throughout the last century. There is always something corrupt behind it.
With Iran pre-1979, it was about oil. With Azerbaijan, also oil. Morocco, arms sales and a population to make aliyah.
Israel has just recognised the Republic of Somaliland as an independant State, Benjamin Netanyahu signed the decree himself.

I don't know anything about Somaliland but I can tell you this has turned me firmly against it.

You don't get to take credit for things just because of the generation you belong to.

Which is what people mean 99% of the time when they say "I marched for civil rights" when criticized for current stances. But even if they did, so what? Genocide is still bad.

An obvious lie, but the question is why Israeli accounts suddenly want to spread lies about this specific issue?

They seem to be panicking over how Conservative Christians are turning against Israel's genocide, its treatment of Christians - and how it drags the US into wars.

Nigeria is so complex a country that a black US diplomat was explicitly told by local officials there his skin color still did not endear him to them some decades ago.
The ethnic diversity is comparable to Congo and the country was widely feared to become a failed state since independence.
Top Nigerian officials said that U.S. attacks in the country could mark the opening salvo in a campaign against militant groups. But security analysts warned that Trump administration officials are stepping into a conflict that they may not fully understand.
With airstrike in Nigeria, Trump inserts U.S. into long-running turmoil
While Trump has said he acted to protect Christians, analysts report that violence, particularly by Islamist militants, has targeted both Christians and Muslims.

Clark County is so redneck and designed to be the anti-Portland that entire towns there feel copy-pasted from places I've known in the south (Clemson, Toccoa, etc.)
Plus, a family that lives there has a hit on me. A member who lives all the way in California told them to SWAT me if they see me.
Clark County Sheriff's Office has a contract with ICE to imprison people they arrest in Portland.

Even if it turns out he's lying, idiots like JD Vance devalue college degrees and the entire higher education system of the United States when they say things like this.
As it's been, it was already a travesty that Bush Jr and Ted Cruz are Ivy League graduates.
JD VANCE THINKS BRITAIN & FRANCE ARE AMERICAS LIKELY ENEMIES.
The world is getting bizarrely screwed with this kind of bull being spewed out.

This story treats an entire region as a cultural and political monolith. Unless I missed something, everyone quoted or depicted is a white conservative, other than a couple of Democratic politicians.

Truly jarring and another example of political journalism as bad travel writing.
