I really think the US could split up. That will be the end result of Project 2025 and the alliance of Christian extremists, techno authoritarians, and billionaires.
If your reaction is to avoid buying tuna/fish, you’re missing the point, which is to ensure good working conditions across industries. Also It’s just as bad for fruit & veg. Concerns about animal welfare & the environment need radical reform of food production, not some people going vegan.

Tuna-fishing has among the worst working conditions of any fishing.

Only 2 years since the ban on neonics, France's population of insect-eating birds has risen 2-3% - from banning a single type of insecticide. Demonstrating just how much harm we cause birds when pesticides kill off the insects they need for food.

UK has only just closed loophole in neonics ban (‘derogations’) so may be too soon to see recovery here?

Funny how right-wingers hate welfare but refuse to do anything to make work pay. 🤔 Indeed they think it’s efficient & smart the mass firing of people, the imposition of low wages, and company asset-stripping.
Buried in the Big Beautiful Bill were changes to food assistance that demanded “any future change be cost-neutral. Translation: no more benefit increases, even if food prices skyrocket.”

The result was “institutionalized hunger.”
