Hyper local news: the Summit Ave lilacs have been pruned. I’ll refrain from snarky jokes about historic preservation being only one form of an ever changing existence.

Three fun facts about my dog
1. He’s chill, but if you start dancing he comes running to join in
2. He’s so independent we pass each other on the stairs. I give him a nod like he’s a coworker
3. When I bike he nips at my legs like I’m a cow
He’s a rescue and we always give back on GTtM day ♥️

All of this.
Remember the dead. Fight like hell for the living.
On this Trans Day of Remembrance, I would have you remember that there are trans people alive who need your action now, not your reflective words later.

Remembering us is not enough.

The world keeps reminding me of one of the best news days, for me, a person obsessed with both legal justice and trains. And I had been working at a firm that represented injured rail workers or their survivors. Sometimes the bad guys get caught.

I hope there are consequences here. I don’t have the words to meet this.
4. But that second indictment was never presented to or voted on by the grand jury

Instead, the foreperson and Halligan signed it, and it was handed up in open court.

The result is that the operative indictment in the Comey case is one that the grand jury did not actually vote on.

More Minnesota kindergartners have nonmedical exemptions for the MMR vaccine, especially at private schools.

I was dreaming way too small. This gets added to the top of my lottery winnings list.
One of my top "if I won the lottery" type fantasies is buying up golf courses and building low income/free housing on them.

If Saint Paul’s taxes go any higher we’re gonna need to talk about a single home owner tax break. Won’t you think of us, especially in today’s dating environment?! Like, families get breaks but they often have a second “safety” income. And they can put them kids to work if things get hard.

This rap sheet is depressing, but what is devastating to me is that during last night's memorial gathering at the site of the hit and run, I witnessed zero drivers stopping at the stop sign. They rolled through, fast or slow, passing by a hundred people gathered with candles at the intersection.
Just learned that the murderer had a rap sheet a mile long. Good to get this context. Better street design is for sure always needed, but this dude should have been locked up with key discarded. No respect for life or civil society here.

Let’s close the Grand Rounds every Sunday to cars and give the parks back to the people!

Alice Wong made waves that went far. A tremendous loss. Memory eternal.
The incredible, indomitable, inspirational Alice Wong has left us.

I'm so grateful to have known her on social media, and so grateful for all the words she shared with us and all the actions she encouraged us into making.
