one of my longstanding takes is that car manufacturers should be forced to install mandatory speed limiters in every new vehicle and people react to that like I'm advocating to strip them of their right to free speech

My Captain told me the sea keeps eating his pressed hands so i asked how many sailors he has and he said he just goes to port and presses new sailors afterwards so i said it just sounds like he's drowning landsmen and now his bosun is flogging me

Great to hear @billhookunion.beanyear.com is keeping me safe from ghosts.
The Romans had an annual ghost exorcism holiday with certain laxative-related themes.

For just as beans cause the body to expel certain substances, they apparently do the same to unwanted household ghosts.

As seen in Cavendish’s “The Black Arts,” following Ovid.

Bean-nana bread featuring carob powder from @billhookunion.beanyear.com. I swapped 40 grams of carob powder for flour in this smitten kitchen recipe and it’s so good smittenkitchen.com/2006/11/jack....

Such a tragedy to see an institution like DCist go down under incompetent leadership. DCist taught me and many others how to be a Washingtonian, and it’s absence leaves a huge hole in the local news scene.
Devastating news this morning with WAMU's decision to shut down DCist. Really important place for in-depth reporting and news about the city of D.C.

In fact WAMU seems to have already blocked people from accessing the DCist website! Ugh.
