I used up most of my fresh fava harvest by mashing the beans with avocado to make favocado toast. It was pretty good, and I bet it would work with the frozen version too.

Here are some new shoots with flower trusses coming off of the spur of last year’s growth. I’m hoping to prune the trusses and shoots/leaves based on the RHS pruning and training book (which I think you had recommended), but we’ll see if that actually happens.

I initially planted natives for pollinators, but now I love seeing the birds interact with my plants! Here’s a dark eyed junco eating my liatris seeds. I never saw them in my yard before I planted natives.

My medical costs are unpredictable, but fortunately my employer’s high deductible plan is cheaper both if I spend nothing and if I max out. Please enjoy my sophisticated analysis from 2020.

The math falls apart as costs become more uncertain, with the out of network costs estimated as “you’re fucked” with the traditional plan and “you’re super fucked” with the HSA plan.
