Even if it is a riot, even if it is not "peaceful" or "non-violent," sheriffs should not call for the immediate summary execution of civilians

Preparing for my Memorial Day Weekend roadtrip by taking the snow shovel, rock salt, and kitty litter out of my car. So if we get a freak blizzard this week, it's my fault.

I’m a huge lover of the arts and worked as a theatre critic for nearly a decade, but I would not set foot in the Kennedy Center until this policy is overturned.

Vote with your dollar and boycott. Mask up in solidarity with those who are now being told they can’t.

Tonight I drove my white Prius to the home of a friend whose own white Prius was parked in her driveway, where we were joined by folks who arrived in a third white Prius. I'm glad my car was able to socialize with its friends this evening, too.

Tonight I had the joy of accompanying my 7-month-old godson to Baby's First Maundy Thursday Service. I even got to take him up to have his feet washed, which he LOVED! When we got back to the pew, his mom put his socks back on, and he spent the rest of the service pulling them off again

You'd think college administrators would realize that allowing ANY of your students to be disappeared is an excellent way to make your school undesirable to potential future students.

This week, I was discussing the deep lore of #WAT, which legitimately coalesced around this 4-point graph.

Can anyone point me to good examples of policies regarding use of church* social media accounts? Or resources about best practices?

*congregation, denominational body, church-adjacent organization, etc. would all be of interest!

"What is the Trump administration doing about bird flu?" The same thing as the last administration. Nothing. The real question is what are *you* doing about it? Don't sit around waiting for a failed government to tell you what to do. Mask up and clean the air.
JUST IN: Dairy worker in Nevada tests positive for H5N1 bird flu, according to CNN.

The case is awaiting confirmation from the CDC. It would be the first human case in Nevada.

North Dakota becomes the latest state to try & enact a mask ban

Pay particular attention to this part of the bill

“With intent to conceal the identity of individual while congregating in a public place with any other individual wearing a mask”

Being masked with other maskers should NOT be a crime

What is abundantly clear in many of the negative responses to Bishop Budde’s invitation to mercy is that many Christians either do not know Jesus or have simply rejected him.

But there is a better way.

Today is the day of salvation.

Do not call it a white elephant gift exchange unless you are doing WEIRD gifts. This is a hill I will die on.

"A game where amusing & impractical gifts are exchanged. The goal of a white elephant gift exchange is to entertain party-goers rather than to give or acquire a genuinely valuable item."

If you consider yourself an ally to disabled and marginalized individuals - but you’re no longer masking in public - we need you to start right now.

If a mask ban passes in NYC - it may not be long before we see them across the country.

The best thing you can do for us is wear a mask.
At every step of the way - disabled advocates have begged the public to take these bans more seriously.

To consider that they’re another step in escalating fascism. Wild government overreach clearly designed to aid surveillance systems and NOT to prevent crime.

But no one helps us. /13

Early this morning, an autonomous group of New Yorkers reclaimed an F train car, replacing ads with signage reading “A MAN WAS LYNCHED HERE” and Jordan Neely’s name, as a jury deliberates over whether to convict Daniel Penny, Neely’s killer, with his death last May.

These are hard times for many of us and likely to get harder, at least for the present, and I find the Advent theme of Christ’s coming as judge to put things right helpful. Trying to live the life of the Kingdom may feel like “fighting the long defeat,” but victory does not depend on us. So hope. ⚓️✝️

But you don’t really care for footwear, do ya?
