I’m a huge lover of the arts and worked as a theatre critic for nearly a decade, but I would not set foot in the Kennedy Center until this policy is overturned.

This is a great observation! If the takeaway is "don't have needs" instead of "other people ALSO have needs, just like you do," it's probably easy to absorb the corollary that "anyone who does have needs is doing something wrong," even if that's not explicitly stated.

In many congratulations and/or presbyteries, it's customary to present a stole to a new pastor as a welcome-to-your-new-ministry gift, so you may end up with one of them covered.

In my experience, what gets worn under is mostly determined by how formal the culture of the particular congregation is. I've seen everything from suit and tie to jeans.

I can't recommend any places to purchase, but you'll be in good shape with a Geneva gown and stole in the liturgical color. Beyond that, most Presbyterians aren't too finicky.

You'd think college administrators would realize that allowing ANY of your students to be disappeared is an excellent way to make your school undesirable to potential future students.
