@poetinbabylon.bsky.social are you still in need of any stoles? I've just been tasked with finding homes for the collection a retired pastor from our presbytery left behind when he moved.

I’m a huge lover of the arts and worked as a theatre critic for nearly a decade, but I would not set foot in the Kennedy Center until this policy is overturned.

Vote with your dollar and boycott. Mask up in solidarity with those who are now being told they can’t.

This is a great observation! If the takeaway is "don't have needs" instead of "other people ALSO have needs, just like you do," it's probably easy to absorb the corollary that "anyone who does have needs is doing something wrong," even if that's not explicitly stated.

Nice! We've done similar things in our presbytery. I'm glad they're willing to work creatively with you!

Which reminds me that I wanted to ask you how the COM worked out the polity questions for you to serve!

In many congratulations and/or presbyteries, it's customary to present a stole to a new pastor as a welcome-to-your-new-ministry gift, so you may end up with one of them covered.

June 2026 in Milwaukee! I've actually never been to a General Assembly.

I can't recommend any places to purchase, but you'll be in good shape with a Geneva gown and stole in the liturgical color. Beyond that, most Presbyterians aren't too finicky.

You'd think college administrators would realize that allowing ANY of your students to be disappeared is an excellent way to make your school undesirable to potential future students.

Congratulations!!! I had been wondering how that conversation went. Excited to have you as a colleague in Presbyland!
