This is ludicrous. It would render all the strict constraints Congress placed on the exercise of this extraordinary statutory power meaningless if no court can decide whether they're satisfied. If the president says the ACLU and the Democratic Party are foreign armies, then I guess they are.

I am at work in the city today. Was going to vote at lunch, as I’ll be away on Election Day. Despite almost every other Sydney seat being represented, none of the polling places in the CBD have voting for Hume.

Given the literal definition of deportation is removing a foreigner or noncitizen from the country, we - journalists, media orgs - should probably all stop referring to the ‘deportation’ of a 2 year old US citizen. It’s NOT a deportation.

I’m not sure what it is. A kidnapping?

Therefore, in order to reach $206,832, the industry insider makes a number of assumptions. They assume each traffic controller works 56 hours per week while claiming every possible travel allowance, meal allowance and site allowance every day for 288 shifts. They claim each traffic controller earns $315 per week in travel allowance, $186 per week in meal allowance, and $280 in site allowance. For this to be true, they would need to exclusively work on projects worth between $5.7 million and $289.1 million in Melbourne's inner suburbs for a $5-per-hour increase. Each entry-level traffic controller would also need to be offered at least 90 minutes of overtime every single shift to qualify for a meal allowance six days per week. Throughout the year, they would each clock up 1,920 hours of ordinary shifts and 768 hours of double-time penalty rates, averaging 2 hours and 40 minutes every day.

It’s such a telling difference between Australia and the US that they rely on private non-profits to fund this, while our version (at least in NSW) which I believe has been around a lot longer, is government developed and operated.

They know exactly what this is about, and pretending it is something that it’s not only damages its own reputation.

We applaud Meta’s efforts to try to fix its over-censorship problem but will watch closely to make sure it is a good-faith effort and rolled out fairly and not merely a political maneuver to accommodate the upcoming U.S. administration change.
