ABC workers deserve a fair deal—not a step backwards. The current proposal fails to deliver on pay, conditions, and respect for the work you do every day. Vote NO to their insulting offer.

It had been waning for years, this year for the first time ever there was zero cup activity in the office. No sweeps, no turning the tv on, nothing.

Just got an email from Hesperian Press showing their latest released book, including from the publisher and owner who has some new titles of his own out... the blurbs make interesting reading 1/
Needless to say, Hesperian Press’s claim in this article that they aren’t publishing Logue’s encoded descriptions of murdering Yamatji people because they’re “unprintable” doesn’t hold up to a moment’s scrutiny given that they could simply *print the translations* www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...
The killing code: strange symbols in a WA settler’s diaries lay bare frontier atrocities
Exclusive: Stories of murders passed down by Yamatji elders are confirmed by a cipher hidden in the 1850s journals of prominent pastoralist Major Logue. Now descendants on both sides want to break the...

Good news for ABC staff thanks to their union @withmeaa.bsky.social and a brave producer willing to stand up - over 100 staff who've spent years on insecure successive contracts (the column is incorrectly says they were casual) have some much needed job security.

The number of cars on WA roads has exploded – and so has congestion. Perth people actually love living like this, that's why we're holding a parliamentary inquiry into e-bikes and scooters that only focusses on why they are bad.

Why wouldn’t you know who needs to hear this?
I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.
