While this is definitely not the worst part of it, the extra little knife twist of people supporting the Harry Potter franchise in 2024 is that it's kind of a shit book. I say this as a once enthusiastic fan. If *this fucking thing* is more important than respecting trans people... Ouch.

I’ve spent an unhealthy amount of time absorbing right wing media (esp Fox) over the last 20+ years. I know how they operate and I know how hard they go at the left. That’s precisely why I know that we do not go nearly as hard at them and that Democrats are playing pattycake while we are in a war.
