I'm on the photo list for a legit show tomorrow. I'm contemplating bringing a Sony Mavica (saves to 3.5" floppies) for the LOL-factor, but I think the end result of that is just that I'd have a handful of terrible photos and I'd have to explain them.

I just paid 16 dollars for a bag of medium quality coffee and I want to scream. This is a relatively minor symptom of the fact that everything is fucked, but it still hits.

My Instagram for-you page currently thinks I'm deeply into women wearing full clown makeup, when in fact I'm fully neutral about the clown element. It neither detracts from nor heightens my experience.

Update: it ended up sounding pretty close to how I imagined it in my dream and it's not bad. I'm not gonna say it's good, but I understand the rationale of it, I think.
I dreamt I was playing a song that was a C octave, C#m7, F#m, G, E. There's no way that's not gonna sound like shit.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Sometimes I want to record cover songs, because I listen to the original and hear all these amazing things I wish they had done. But recording a wildly transformative cover is a thankless thing.

In my personal life, digits are individual characters so 10 comes before 3 (that's not how we do it at work), and a space is a character that precedes all others (it is unclear whether this is the prevailing standard at work, it seems some people treat the space as not being there)
For example, what to do with numbers? Does 10 come before 3? Does a space count as a character, and if so, what is the value of that character? The problem is that everyone believes the system they're using is common sense. And then some people just don't know the alphabet.

There are a lot more ambiguities in what counts as "alphabetical order" than I had previously considered, and it's clear that several of my coworkers are operating under competing interpretations.

I'm not a good piano player, but I am currently deep in a dysfunctional obsession with how badly I want a Wurlitzer electric piano. I wouldn't make anything good with it, because I couldn't. I just wanna sit down at it and let chords ring out.
