i hope (perhaps in vain) that these numbers are so appallingly low because people are tuned out from news and not because 40ish% of the country approves of the gestapo

is there literally anything ordinary folks can do about this stupid greenland shit? if someone is acting unilaterally then the standard "annoy the fuck out of your elected officials with calls, emails & letters" isn't going to help, and "demand impeachment if he does it" does nothing for prevention

i had the most intense uber driver just now. he gave a time estimate of my house to bwi which was really short and i was like 'wow, that's crazy, one time my old boss did downtown to bwi in 12 minutes' and before i could complete the last syllable he says "i could beat that"

exactly! i don't mind sharing the road at all but paralyzing every business and trapping every resident on falls road for half of the weekend is not going to be appreciated by most. especially when it's on the exact day that southbound 83 will also be closed 😳

my theory for 1 reason (there are many of course) why some people can't accept this as fact is that they think visual signs of poverty = danger & crime.
i think some people see addicts, see the unhoused, see graffiti, see litter and think "well how could there *not* be a ton of violent crime!"
