Zohran's campaign was his determination to make New York a city everyone can afford to live in. Huge congratulations!

His success will resonate throughout the world. A story where no one is left behind.

It's time to write that story across England & Wales too.

I considered writing a long carefully constructed argument laying out the harms and limitations of AI, but instead I wrote about being a hater. Only humans can be haters.
I Am An AI Hater

I think that people forget that hope & creativity are skills / muscles. You have to choose to practice them and challenge yourself to keep at it when shit gets hard.

I believe that is part of what AI does is that it atrophies those muscles which exacerbates existing stressors & existential crises.

It is interesting how often genAI haters are framed as petulant, flippant, or intellectually conservative; as if our anger comes from some childish, egotistical, uninformed place and not stoked by watching our professions and ideals go up in flames.

Appreciate this is a sweeping generalisation and not applicable to everyone, but one of the main reasons politicians are so blithe about AI is that so many of them consider the arts to be something they are automatically adept at when they feel like it. All those dreadful novels are evidence enough.

My incredible friend Jamie Hale - writer, director, head of @cripticarts.bsky.social - was in hospital today, and this was their experience. They've given me permission to share.
