I'd like to know how this is even legal. I'd like to see legislation introduced to force swearing in 2 weeks after the vote is certified.
Epstein vote aside, Adelita Grijalva needs to be sworn in today, no questions asked. More than 700,000 Arizonans have been without representation, and that’s flat-out unacceptable.

Daylight savings should definitely go away, but what should replace it? My solution revert to standard time, but make society more flexible about hours depending on the season. Start school a bit later in winter, do things early in the summer. Why not?

If you're a stat nerd and interested about the climate this article is for you. It shows our climate accelerating higher in recent years, a scary proposition. I'm curious if this is the result of feedback loops or basic exponential growth.

Agreed, with one tweak: the Senate definitely needs reform, but a bi-cameral system has it's advantages (do you really want the current house to have free reign).
My proposal for the Second American Republic:
- Multi-party proportional representation
- Abolish or denude the Senate
- Make the Supreme Court into a constitutional court with weak judicial review
- Make the constitution easier to amend
- Move from a presidential to parliamentary system

Agreed, with one tweak: the Senate definitely needs reform, but a bi-cameral system has it's advantages (do you really want the current house to have free reign).
This was a great read. Very interested to see what Akbar will do next. There were some slight problems with the plot, but his beautiful prose and the depth of characters more than made up for it.
Was an interesting weekend to finish this book to say the least, but wanted to recommend MARTYR! to anyone who hasn’t read it. Just astoundingly beautiful prose (you can tell the author is a poet), with so much to say about the stories we tell about ourselves and others.

Every state prohibiting RCV (yellow on map) is, unsurprisingly, a red state. They overtly want total control with as little pushback as possible from dissenting voices. More voting options lead to better government, Election Reform is how we get there.

A candidate for president needs an issue that can galvanize large portions of the populous. Anti-Trump isn't going to win, the same old rhetoric will not create excitement, and far left policies will alienate many key voters. What is an issue that can create this much needed energy come '26 and '28?
