It’s hard to overstate the impact this image has on your brain if you spent a lot of time looking at the back pages of PC Gamer at a certain age.
My choice for #RandomGameSaturday cuz I was digging thru things... and it's fun to remember when games came on floppy discs lol Yes, old fanservice games. Knights of Xentar was a mediocre jrpg and Metal & Lace a disappointing fighting game due to laggy controls. Still loved both cuz of cute 😛

I’ve been doing some solo games of Advance Wars By Web to get my groove back and have been wondering why Grit (the artillery CO) is almost always banned alongside the COs with no downsides that break the game and here he is turning the guy who gets half price units deployed anywhere into hamburger

My milkshake brings (3D6 + milkshaker's level) boys to the yard. For each soy milk in inventory, an extra 1D3 soy boys may be brought to the yard. My milkshake can be used when not in a yard, but only a fixed 1D4 boys will be brought, with no milkshaker's level-based adjustment.

There are so many terrible ways to die in Wars World but this is up there with “lived in the building getting jumped on” and “submarine imploded because your CO, the self-professed master naval combat and a child who can’t even find clothes that fit, forgot how much fuel it takes to stay submerged”

I love that Advance Wars is pretty upfront about AA Guns being able to one shot infantry because it’s a frank acknowledgment that those cute little guys are being turned into hamburger by a non-stop barrage of arm length superheated scrap metal
