This is truly my autism talking but it’s incredibly crazy to me that people would rather pretend to not see racism when I avoid natural feelings bc I would hate for them to be misinterpreted as hateful. I’ll take the L to create a less hateful world.
It's usually white people interpreting behaviors as anything but racism. They'll even say stuff like, "the way so and so treasts you is wild, I've never seen anything like it" but because they're not literally carrying a sign saying "I'm doing this cause I'm racist" they can't see the racism

I have been thinking a lot about how becoming more informed and aware over the next four years in a way that’s really useful might mean more books about history and less getting sucked into the daily firehose of bad news which is the present
I was raised in a multi-generational organizing family and I can say with firsthand knowledge that 20th century organizers read theory and they studied history and literature quite closely

I angrily ranted about the socioeconomic layout of a neighbourhood I lived in nearly 7 years ago to my ally European boss and scared him. Like he’s a bro but he was having 1793 flashbacks and sweating.

Hi, ASL interpreter of 30 yrs & a person w/ Deaf family here.
In response to the anti-ASL horseshit going around:
ASL and English are not the same language.
ASL has no written form.
Reading English subs is not = to seeing ASL & many Deaf ppl need sign to fully understand info.

If you played an instrument back in high school and stopped: we are in a golden age of decent cheap instruments.
The guitars are better, the amps are better. The pedals are cheaper, the wind instruments are actually instruments and not just shaped like them, etc.
