The EV share of new car sales in 🇩🇰 Denmark was 73.7% in November. Of private individuals buying a new car, 91% opted for an EV.

The good news: we can pretty much stop the biodiversity crisis and give a massive contribution to dealing with climate change if we moved to a healthy diet. And it would save millions of human lives beside that.

How can policies to help it be contentious?

Truly devastating for Trump's climate report. It just shows once again: if you task a group of "climate skeptics" with a climate report, you get a mass of easily refuted falsehoods, as they simply do not have honest arguments on their side.

Every country is warming.

Every country is experiencing more extreme weather events because of climate change, mainly caused by burning fossil fuels. www.ShowYourStripes.info

Time to #ShowYourStripes and start climate conversations to prompt actions to reduce emissions, personally & collectively.

Very relevant piece by @petergleick.bsky.social reminding us that climate change is a threat multiplier for national security and has been acknowledged by the DoD and other top US for DECADES!! BTW, it is a serious threat for other countries..."Physical reality will always trump political ideology".

Preliminary data suggests that the global average increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration in 2024 will be a record.

Not just a little record, but 25% higher than the previous record.

(This is the global average, as opposed to Moana Loa)

Excellent turn of phrase - "double climate dividend" - in this paper by @paulbehrens.bsky.social et al.

Shifting high-meat diets toward plants benefits the climate in 2 ways:
1. Reducing emissions from ag production
2. Reducing ag land needs, enabling ecosystem restoration/avoiding deforestation 🧪
Rich nations could see ‘double climate dividend’ by switching to plant-based foods - Carbon Brief
Adopting a more plant-based diet could give rich countries a “double climate dividend” of lower emissions and more land for capturing carbon, a new study says.

Do you think you live on a different planet, which climate breakdown does not affect?
Do you imagine only greens and progressives will be harmed by Earth systems collapse?
Do you believe you can win an argument with physics?
