The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.

TikTok is back, complete with a message thanking Trump. We know that Trump initially got the TikTok ban talk rolling, but Democrats did his dirty work, signing the bill into law. In catering to conservative logic they handed him today’s win on a platter.

Insightful thread on who the Democrats REALLY are (for those who need the light shined on it)
all the smart folks who innovate, ask questions, and stand up for what they believe in? pushed out, punched down, burnt out

working in advocacy after they realized exactly what the party is, or moved on to something that doesn’t kill their soul

Democrats handed Trump this TikTok win on a platter by picking up right-wing arguments and running with them. It’s the same thing they’re doing on immigration right now. It turns out that moving right legitimizes and helps the right!

lol yeah that’s what it is. Not that they simply do not care because half of them are just consultants and the other half are rich dipshits who win either way
At this point I think the Democrats have a masochism/humiliation kink going on. So much bad political strategy! All the time! About matters small and great! They keep thinking if they play by the rules they will persevere whilst Republicans dgaf about rules and do what they want.

Luigi Mangione was taken into custody just as Daniel Penny walked free.

The ruling class wants us to celebrate the murder of the vulnerable and condemn the murder of the powerful.

They fail to see how killing the powerless breeds violence against the powerful.

There’s a chance this guy didn’t think he’d get away with it, and that he’s okay with the trial of the century. He could have known that the price to be paid for killing the CEO was likely his life. Wouldn’t be the first American to think that way, a lot just seem to go after school kids instead.
