New piece.

The data presented by @thejcpa.bsky.social and @counterhate.com about antisemitism on X is stark: it is being spread to hundreds of millions of people.

Not just antisemitism, but OVERT antisemitism. And that shift means far more than people realize. It won't be long before it leaves X.
Overt Anti-Jewish Hate is On the Verge of Going Mainstream
The combination of mainstreamed conspiracy theories and overt hate on X is close to transforming America's relationship with Jews.

Please don't turn away from the displaced and hungry civilians in Gaza.

If you can, please give to my friend Tasneem so she can feed her family and raise funds to rebuild their lives.

And find and help others. We’re their only voice and means of survival. ❤️

When I lived in a cultish community, they often used “unity” as a method to silence those who expressed disagreement or who were victimized by the system.

Same dynamic here. One sided “unity.” Unity for me, not for thee.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

Our National Director, Jonathan Jacoby, is deeply concerned by the divisive and hyperbolic response from some corners of the American Jewish community to the election of Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani.

I thought the shutdown was the fight, did I get that wrong
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

Reminder: we are in this together. Whether you accept it or not, they’ll eventually remind you.

Primary them all, not just the ones overtly doing the horrible things. The establishment has completely abandoned the American people. And that happened a long time ago, this is just the latest gross example.
they're taking the heat for colleagues who agree with them, but don't want to get primaried

Yes this is KILLING me. Wonderful having my feed suddenly turn into Fox News clips. The way this stuff eats people’s brains so completely should be studied.
Sad that Tish Hyman has apparently come out as anti-trans now... even associating with Andy Ngo.

No reason at all to do this besides hate
NEW: On the shadow docket, the Supreme Court lets Trump resume misgendering trans Americans on their passports, claiming "the government is merely attesting to a historical fact without subjecting anyone to differential treatment." All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/26...

Goat meat stands sound really good tho, can we have those?

Don’t let anyone change the reality of who Fuentes is. Now that he is more mainstream, there will be an almost involuntary reaction on the part of many to see him as legitimate.

He’ll use that to great effect, as he already did with Carlson.

But never forget: this is who Fuentes actually is.

This is why I’m thankful for people like @rachelgilmore.bsky.social doing the good work.

We cannot take journalism for granted.
Every single journalist with expertise in extremism I know has been fired or their publication has folded.

Not a coincidence, of course. Grateful for their work, but unfortunately for almost all of us, this work will now have to be the side hustle.

I'm writing a piece on extremism and the military and I have never run into so many people wanting to be off the record before. This plus thr fact that so many of us have been pushed to the margins is bad bad bad.

So many reminders that unfettered, unchecked capitalism has directly led us to fascism.

Note that he includes Fuentes as in the city.
Note that “the city” here is “the right.” The rest of us are enemies.

Teen Vogue rising after the 2016 election and dying after the 2024 election doesn't even feel like a metaphor as much as a microcosm of what is happening all over places that were once strong areas of resistance.

It actually is mind blowing to check out X and see what is essentially 4chan which is also populated with politicians, media figures, "thought leaders" etc.

A dystopian horror, really. Where neo-Nazis now have equal standing with mainstream leaders. There is a reason Fuentes is now so mainstreamed.
The authoritarian takeover of X was a harbinger of the regime’s strategy for America at large.

Bluesky is a perfectly adequate refuge for X exiles. The biggest problem with Bluesky is that so many political and media elites are still on X. That’s not Bluesky’s fault—it reflects poorly on the elite.

And yet they are full of rich centrists telling us to listen more to working class people
It’s truly scary how few mainstream publications are willing to publish working class voices and perspectives (let alone leftist ones), and every one we lose is yet another blow to the fragile hope for a better world

The resentment that Republicans have is nothing like the resentment that white liberals had that the CRA and VRA made them not only the party of civil rights but the party of Black voters. The anger at the Black base since 2008 has emerged from all parts of the coalition, including leadership.
Here’s the thing the modern Democratic Party leadership sees the Civil Rights movement and their subsequent association with marginalized people in general as a great mistake and giant millstone about its neck.
The modern Democratic party established its identity by backing civil rights; the modern GOP by opposing them.

Civil rights are the values of Dem value voters—the party BASE.

The Dems lose the plot when they don’t LEAD on public opinion of civil rights. This is the lesson they don’t learn.

Tucker’s ghost writer Blake Neff got exposed for prolifically posting the same manner of online rhetoric that Groypers do, was fired, and then graduated to becoming a producer for (drum roll)

The Charlie Kirk Show
Anyone following Carlson closely would know he basically shares all of Fuentes’s positions but has been adept at coding them.

This was particularly revealed during Kanye-gate, when his team purposefully edited out the overt antisemitism and kept the coded version.
There isn’t really a gap between Fuentes and MAGA. It’s like the Klan and the White Citizen’s Councils. They are part of the same white supremacist movement and largely disagree over tactics.

We do not join Jonathan Greenblatt in thanking the Heritage Foundation's President Kevin Roberts for trying to have it both ways.

You can’t condemn antisemitism and not condemn those ushering it into the mainstream.
