I didn’t give a wit about new pope coverage, but the first American pope being a man with Black ancestry born in Chicago by way of New Orleans by way of Haiti. Names his self after the pope who condemned slavery? In the Trump era? Oh, baebae, I am HERE for it.

Pope Leo XIV's grandparents were 7th Ward Creoles
The newly elected pontiff, born in Chicago, has ancestral ties to the city’s historic Seventh Ward, according to genealogists at The Historic New Orleans Collection.

As Trump floods the zone, here's my advice to the media on how to push back and still hold him to account without being disoriented or deflected by his 'gish galloping'.

How to Beat Trump in a Debate
Unprepared and weak-willed opponents continue to play right into his hands.

Whenever you hear someone sneer about scientific research that seems useless to them — “they’re studying the spit of lizards?!” — remind them that’s exactly how we got Ozempic.

In 1984, Dr. Daniel Drucker, an endocrinologist from the University of Toronto, discovered a hormone that helped pave the way for popular diabetes drugs such as Ozempic.

The USAF removed Tuskegee Airmen & Women Airforce Service Pilots of WWII from basic training curriculum. For 30 years I promised these women I would not let them ever be forgotten again. We worked for decades to have them remembered. The Airmen too. Knowledge is power. 🗃️ www.msn.com/en-us/societ...

A tale of Elon and his apologists:

Elon lets Nazis back on his platform - "he's defending free speech"

He regularly amplifies supremacist ideologies, memes and conspiracy theories - "he's doing it for engagement"

He does the Nazi salute (twice) - "he has autism-ish"

Elon is a Nazi.

The End.

Everyone in the media needs to read this comment below. While the legacy media is telling itself the problem is disappointed voters who need a break, the truth is customers disappointed in the content they are being offered and the patronizing responses.
I unsubscribed from the Washington Post and have not been watching MSNBC. But I still subscribe to 4 or 5 newspapers and many more Substacks and magazines. I’m not tuning out. I’m just tuning into different things.

Many of us are echoing @timothysnyder.bsky.social's lesson in On Tyranny, "Do not obey in advance.”

A no less vital admonition that deserves attn:

STAND OUT

“...without that unease, there is no freedom. The moment you set an example, the spell of the status quo is broken, and others will follow."
