I love this @mollycrabapple.bsky.social article about how Mamdani fits in with NYC's Jewish socialists. I learned about Baruch Charney Vladeck from his great-grandson @stevevladeck.bsky.social Substack, and I would read a book about him if someone wrote it. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
They tried to smear him as an antisemite – but Mayor Zohran Mamdani walks in a rich Jewish tradition | Molly Crabapple
When I look at Mamdani, I don’t see some radical departure. I see him as an heir to the Yiddish socialism that helped build New York

Here is a statement by @truahrabbis.bsky.social, one of the Jewish organizations I support, explaining why they are opposed to codifying the IHRA definition of antisemitism (while being committed as I am and as Mayor Mamdani is to fighting antisemitism). truah.org/resources/wh...

Lot happening right now but seems like a critical question for tomorrow will be - why did Trump tell the world he was in charge of Venezuela when it is clear he isn't?
Trump told the world this am he was now in charge of another nation. The current government of that nation, Venezuela, said no f-ing way today.

Is Trump delusional, confabulating, wishcasting? Has Trump lost it? Seriously, what is going on? My latest 👇

Did Trump just invent, confabulate, wishcast on global television this morning that he was in charge of Venezuela?

Mayor Mamdani hasn't moved into Gracie Mansion yet and remains in his Astoria apartment for now, his team says. He expects to move at some point before his lease is up Jan. 30.

His team also shares this pic of him taking the W train to City Hall this morning from Astoria.

I feel like "attention hacking" is most of politics now. The Minnesota aid fraud story is becoming a perfect example.

Recap: In 2022, the Biden DOJ filed the first charges against dozens of fraudsters, many of them Somali-American, who'd fleeced a state food aid program. (1/x)

This NYT story is almost malpractice. It is as bad a report of facts as one can do. Does not even mention that DeSantis’s own mini-DOGE issued a scathing financial report on the place just 6 weeks ago.

This Yglesias piece in the NYT is horrifically bad. Almost every "fact" it cites is provably false. At best it is cocktail party banter from a pundit who knows nothing of energy. At worst, it was cut/paste from oil industry talking points. So, a rebuttal: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/18/o...
