My God, this whole thread.😢
1/ It was the height of the pandemic, but Phoebe Putney Memorial had good news: At 99 years old, Maude Burke was the oldest COVID-19 patient they were discharging.

In a video, staff waved balloons, celebrating Burke beating the disease.

There was one issue: It wasn’t true. 🧵

Just updated this comprehensive list again today with books about universal basic income published in 2024 and 2025, like Basic Income: The Policy That Changes Everything. I also added some new books in the fiction section too, like The Hands of the Emperor. Happy reading!

I continue to think it's not really about the tariffs, although the tariffs are bad. That nobody could or would stop him from doing the tariffs are the story. It's not 2017 anymore. The stock market is not the scoreboard.
One day financial reporting will get that it's not about the tariffs. The tariffs are a stand in for uncertainty and the US blowing up the stability premium.
Quick markets check....stonks flushing to session lows -72 bps. NASDAQ 100 lead (-133 bps), Magnificent 7 down 2.2%, AI picks and shovels -4.0% (VRT the worst performer in the R1K -8.7%). Other notable laggards: CVNA, SMCI, DJT, GRAL, MRVL, HOOD, VST. FNMA off almost 4%. Lotta risk bids missing.

This is why I keep saying progressives: leftists should be invading these town halls not to disrupt but to talk to the republicans who get it and try and bring them out of the fever dream into the light. We have a massive opportunity right now to remake the country in our image and many will follow.
