Poor choices landed me here. OIF and OEF vet, former AUS (the airport, not the country) and Army spox, now talking energy. Generally helpful, usually on background.
We have a pair of giant live oaks in the front yard that are gorgeous to look at and provide incredible shade, but I swear keeping after their tiny little leaves - and now acorns in the fall - is a Sisyphean task.

I recorded this video 10 years ago today at the 50th anniversary reunion of the veterans of the Battle of Ia Drang Valley.

Joe Galloway, and so many others didn't live to attend the 60th reunion, so seems as appropriate a time as any to share.

Just because I was digging through my old pics looking for something for Veterans Day - here's a collection of shots I took of random soldiers during my time as an army photojournalist.

No idea what any of these folks are now up to but wish them well.

Heck of a run, I'll say that much - happy Veterans Day y'all.

Sure, the image is AI slop, but it's also one of the most horrifying ideas for a product I can think of.

I read this and immediately thought “well that would actually be awesome because then Marty can go back to the 90s where he probably had a really awesome time as a teenager” and then I was like oh wait his PARENTS would have been teenagers in the 90s and then I just sat here for like 45 minutes

I mean it could take it or leave it as far as another GTA VI delay, but it is wild to think about the fact that the last game came out in 2013.

Obama was in the first year of his second term! The Xbox One and PS4 hadn't even been released yet! House of Cards had just aired its first season!

Back when I was with the Army, I fielded a ton of questions from Dave Phillipps when we were all trying to understand the impact of blast exposure post-Lewiston, and he's been extensively reporting on this beat for a while.

This piece is well worth checking out.
