In 1582, a papal bull introduced the Gregorian calendar, still used today by most of the world. Because it’s 11 days ahead of the Julian calendar, countries introducing it simply skipped a third of October, and if you scroll back far enough in the iPhone calendar app you can see it change

My biggest recent surprise was learning how many people were getting GLP-1s from semi-official compounders, apparently some even on Amazon (?!). I don't mean for microdosing (also a thing); this is to obtain affordable, regular doses of GLP-1s; not sure anyone is or can track volume but likely huge.
I’m seeing more patients recently taking peptides off label. This is an exceptionally well written review, I found it very helpful in understanding the trend and the (lack of) data around these new and unproven meds

1/3 My latest, in @statnews.com, asks how can tech health platforms most effectively support the many newly-engaged with, & hopeful about their health following GLP-1 success: statnews.com/2025/11/13/w.... tl;dr platforms need vision more capacious than relentless optimization of perf metrics.

GLP-1 access is widening. The real work now: turning wt-loss success-> healthier, more meaningful life. We need health platforms that center agency+connection, not just metrics+dashboards.

There are many things wrong with the US health insurance system, but INSURANCE FUNCTIONING LIKE INSURANCE isn’t one of them. If you actually want to fix something (rather than wreck it) you have to identify and understand the problem first.
My wife and I pay for life insurance even though we have never died. I pay for fire insurance even though my house has never burned down. That's not because we want to throw money at insurance companies. It's because THAT'S HOW INSURANCE WORKS.
