Everyone should be sharing this story about the Amnesty International report because yes many of us have long acknowledged that it’s a genocide but there are still people who need the validation of a report from an org like Amnesty to believe it’s true zeteo.com/p/amnesty-co...
Amnesty International Investigation Concludes Israel Is Committing Genocide
“We will look back and say, ‘Why did we not do more earlier?” Amnesty's director tells Zeteo.

This isn't a culture war. This is the only trans congresswoman, ever being bullied through the press and legislation, and having only 1 of hundreds of colleagues stand up for her. They can do more than 1 thing at a time. Defending her will not take so much effort that they can't do their jobs.
Defending Sarah McBride is absolutely the right thing to do, and yet there’s also the risk of being baited into yet another culture war cycle that distracts from the Republican grift. Her statement suggests she wants to move forward, and I think it’s wise to take the cue from her.

Vote for Sanders’ resolutions is tomorrow. It will fail and your rep will probably vote in favor of sending additional arms to Israel. These facts should not stop you from calling if it’s important to you.
Sanders is bringing a vote to the Senate to block arms sales to Israel. Only a few senators have spoken in support of it. I will be asking my senators to support it, even though I know it’s unlikely that they listen.

I am not interested in a debate in my mentions about any of this.

Fellow Twitter exodans - is there a reason to actually deactivate your old account (versus just deleting all your old tweets?) I'm feeling a bit reluctant, in case I have a reason to lurk or want to search something from my old DMs.

Indeed. When they rounded up the Japanese Americans, myself and my family included, for internment during WWII out of fear over Japanese spies and saboteurs, two thirds of us were U.S. citizens.

Don’t think it won’t happen again when they come for the “undocumented.”

It is so discouraging to see that the media hasn't learned a single thing over the past decade. They normalize the absolutely insane things Trump and his surrogates do and treat them as legitimate.

The United States has oligarchs now.
Not merely rich people with more personal influence on politics than poorer people have, but a few extremely rich people closely connected to the national leader who act in government-like roles despite never being elected or nominated to any official position.
