Perpetrators of hate crimes - about 170,000 a year - are up to 1 in 400 people (about 0.25% of population) or maybe 1 in 500 people [if many people are multiple offenders]

But this 0.25% of population - and the 2-3% proud of overtly racist views - are certainly not amenable to reduced net migration

Her answer is the level of net migration, 2019-23 causes racism. (She on Monday said it was caused by the scale of asylum)

I really hate it when scientists keep saying that “we need to rebuild trust in science,” because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.
