Y’all here is a fun fact: Portland has a brand new volunteer organization called “operation inflation” that allows people to borrow inflatable costumes for protests. They just started a couple weeks ago and have like a 160 costume library (and counting because people keep donating).

ICE just gassed a group a civilians near the Rico Fresh supermarket intersection on Armitage in Chicago - bystanders say this was in response for being heckled from the street.

I live on the west side and I am very shook up right now. There's been a helicopter hovering all day. ICE throwing tear gas at a busy intersection with a grocery store! and a SCHOOL!!! People kidnapped from the Home Depot. It's like the stuff you read in history books, right there on your block.

To potentially oversimplify this, but the number of people arrested at the Palestine Action protests exceeds the entire number of people, on average, attending the anti-asylum hotels protests, yet they are called "fringe" and those outside hotels are called the "voice of the people".

Just had a literary festival try to assuage my concerns about their workshop with a “decolonially trained AI” by assuring me the AI isn’t getting paid for their session, as if my concern was grounded in the pay scale for the robots

Love to watch the infrastructure of knowledge collapsing in real time
Chapman has announced its own AI platform which provides subscriber access to all the various big algorithms. To see what students will be dealing with, I tested it on my own bibliography. Folks, it doesn't just make up citations, it provides real DOIs for them that link to unrelated publications.
