“Which means that Copenhagen, a city of 1.2 million people, saves $357 million a year on health costs because something like 80% of its population commutes by bike.”

Copenhagen, the bicycle-friendliest place on the planet, publishes a biannual Bicycle Account, and buried in its pages is a rather astonishing fact.

Here’s a good question — why is riding a bicycle in the city turning into [actually, being deliberately turned into] a culture war?

Read this @momentummag.bsky.social article.

It doesn’t need to be this way. It’s just smarter transportation that makes urban movement easier for EVERYONE.

A) Makary is lying. Despite rampant misinformation about COVID vaccines they retain well above 70% public support…far more than this administration can say.

B) If people “don’t want COVID boosters” they don’t have to get COVID boosters. Why do these dweebs oppose informed consent & the free market?

I’d love to see their data! Cause this has been studied by actual scientists & the decline in American life expectancy has ACTUALLY been driven largely by:

-guns
-illicit drugs
-COVID
-lack of healthcare access

And our horrible maternal mortality rates are driven by abortion restrictions & racism.
The White House blamed exposure to environmental toxins, poor nutrition and increased screen time for a decline in Americans’ life expectancy Thursday.

Got some (liquid) fentanyl sprayed on me this week by a colleague medicating a badly-injured patient, and didn’t die or even have any effects. My urine (most sensitive way to test for fentanyl exposure - I have tons of test strips at home cause I give them out lol) was also negative for fentanyl :/
Semi-regular reminder that I sprayed fentanyl in my face once and nothing happened except my preceptor and the patient laughed at me.

These children suffered horribly before they died. And statistics like this completely exclude the many who “survived” after suffering horribly, many with permanent harms.
Amid dropping vaccination rates, 25 children in New York State died from influenza during the 2024-25 flu season — more than in any recent flu season, state health authorities said on Wednesday.

The final product of a solar farm or coal plant is identical.

If we prefer coal & gas — despite being dirtier — because they “create more jobs,”
can we just admit fossil fuel power stations are a

Stopping deforestation is one of the largest and most effective climate solutions. It can reduce global emissions by ~10-12%, equivalent to the entire U.S. economy.

It could be a powerful "emergency brake" on climate.

So why aren't we paying more attention to it?
